Morning
Well the weekend started out somewhat disappointing with NTRO endorsing my opponent, but the only endorsement that really matters is yours in that voting booth! Speaking of voting booth - Early voting starts today and both Naperville and Aurora residents can vote at Naperville City Hall, Hours are M-F 8:30am to 4:30pm and on Saturdays from 9 to Noon. I of course ask for your vote.
Looking forward to many activities and meetings this week with the highlights being Naperville Chamber Gov't Affairs lunch today and then the League of Women Voters on Wednesday night at Naperville City Hall.
If anyone would like to volunteer or needs a yard sign please let me know!

HOME FROM SPRINGFIELD!!
Happy Friday! Well, it's been a long week - but it's 25 days to the election - so I will have long weeks and days!
Had great Naperville Area Republican Women's Candidate Forum Wednesday night (Read About It Here)- had some great questions and I believe those in attendance saw how I would be the best candidate. I even received some calls letting me know how well I did and I really appreciate that and the thoughtfulness of giving me a call. Right after the forum, I drove down to Springfield - arrived about 12:30am - long drive, but I felt it was necessary to be down and see the debate and vote on mass transit. While I am very happy this is issue is finally resolved, I am once again disappointed in this Governor's games. While it is very nice to add Seniors ride free on public transit - I don't agree with how his "showmanship" is coming out again! He could have added this in the bill when it was in the Senate and the House, but once again he will call the General Assembly back in and waste more time and taxpayer money. Unreal!!
Thursday was a great day in Springfield, seeing many old friends, meeting with Leader Cross and other members of the General Assembly. Being down and there and seeing the legislative process again just reminds why I want to be the State Representative for the 96th District.
This morning I attended the DuPage Chapter of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois annual Legislative Breakfast. It was nice to see the many friends I have met in my tenure as an Insurance Broker and believe I can address their needs in Springfield. Later today, I have my interview with Naperville Community TV (www.nctv17.com) which will begin running January 19th - so stay tuned!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend - I just may be knocking on your door!!

Tuesday Update
Morning - hope everyone survived the rains last night - great light shows! Had a great experience at the NACPAC session and Wheatland Township meeting last night.
Also, even better news was the endorsement of our DuPage County States Attorney Joe Birkett - I truly appreciate Joe's support for my race!
Below you find a link to today's Naperville Sun and a Chicago Tribune article from about two weeks ago about the race!

Been a Long Time!!
Sorry for being away from the site, but we have been very busy and I promise to keep this updated and even expand it!
Since my last post, so much has gone on - but some of the highligths are: we gathered signatures - thanks to everyone who helped - and filed my peitions. We had one opponent drop out and possibly decide to get back in! My other opponent's campaign decided to object to my petitions, but then withdrew it - just a little tip for all those future objectors; make sure you cite enough signatures to actually knock someone off!! Had a great fundraiser at Orazio's in Naperville, attended numerous meetings and functions and now have more Christmas gaterings than days! But we are moving full steam ahead and look forward to meeting the voters of the 96th District!
My next fundraiser is this Thursday, Dec. 6th at Columbia Yacht Club at Monore Harbor, if you are interested in attending just send me an email or call the number below!

Weekend Activities
Had a busy last couple of days -
Friday - volunteered and met some wonderful people at the Naperville WineFest at the Naper Settlement - this was a great event with a lot of wonderful wine vendors and local eateries. Although it was a little chilly they had a great turnout!
Saturday - Attended the Lisle Township Republican Golf Outing - Golfed with my good friend Dave Carlin, who's the candidate for State Rep. in the 48th District - DavidCarlin.com and his brother - Mark good ND fan! And rounding out our 4th was Rick Veenstra, Addison Township Trustee and Chairman of IL YR's. Again, couldn't stay for dinner or the reception as I needed to head back to the Wine Fest, but this time I was able to sample a few.
Monday - Even though they are not in the 96th I attended the Lisle Township Republican meeting at the Lisle Hilton. Lisle Township is where I first became a committeemen in DuPage and learned how the committeemen's organizations worked.
Keep coming back the days just keep busier!!!

9/11
Afternoon, wanted to fill everyone in on some of my recent activities - yesterday I was invited to enjoy a wonderful day of golf at Senator Kirk Dillard's Annual Golf Outing at Seven Bridges in Woodridge. It was a beautiful day and Kirk had a great turnout - he also had a bagpiper who performed Amazing Grace and America the Beautiful and did a nice job.
I wasn't able to finish my round or stay for the dinner part, because I wanted to attend the Naperville 9/11 service at city hall Read about it here - this was a wonderful tribute to Commander Dan Shanower from Naperville, who was killed in the attack on the Pentagon. As usual, Naperville residents came out to show their support for the Shanower Family and for those families who lost loved one's on that horrible day, it was nice to see all those folks who - as I - will never forget! If you would like to see the memorial please click on the link above.
After the ceremony, I headed down to the Wheatland Township Republican Organization monthly meeting and met some of our fellow Republicans from Will County. Todd has really done a nice job with that organization, with recruiting, fundraising and most importantly getting their name out there! If you live in Wheatland Township or just want to see one the best township websites around go to www.wtro.org
